Tobbians: The Key in the Bottle

The winds of change were beginning to blow through the kingdom, stirring up even the far reaches of Provydeancia. There seemed to be an uneasiness rippling through the nine provinces. The King and his elite knights had their hands full in managing the complaints from the lords of the more discontented provinces. The dwarves had largely abandoned the mountains in Provydeancia, taking with them the stability their presence had afforded. Cave trolls were moving in. Certain delves had surfaced from various tribes seeking treasure and causing general mischief in the kingdom. And now the King’s own twins had disappeared…

Yet even when the political wind seems to be whistling through every quarter, causing discontent and unrest, there always seems to remain those pockets the wind doesn’t touch. There will always be those citizens who are pleased to go about their lives peacefully and contentedly, unaware of the dangers, ambitions, and worries that plague others. However, adventure has a way of finding even those most skilled at avoiding it. Allow me to introduce you to one such peaceful pocket and one such unconcerned citizen… What will happen to this citizen when adventure finds him? You choose.

Tobbians: The Key in the Bottle is a My Choice Mini Adventure. You choose the path that the characters follow. The fate of the world is hanging on your every decision.

Audio Theatre Central's 200th Episode

If you know even a little bit about me, you probably know that I love audio drama.  It is one of the absolute best mediums for telling stories, and if you want to know why, the link to the following episode is a good reason why! Any current involvement I have with audio drama is almost entirely due to the inimitable JD Sutter, and incidentally, he is also the one to whom I owe the creation of this website!  JD has graciously had me on as a cohost several times for audio drama reviews and as a contributor to the ATC blog, and with the celebration of the 200th episode, it seemed appropriate to link to it! If you want to know why I love audio drama and why you should too, this episode is probably the most comprehensive answer from the most authoritative people in the space. https://www.audiotheatrecentral.com/2024/06/atc200-milestone-celebration-with-industry-guests.html

Review of Adventures in Odyssey Album 76

Last month, I had the opportunity to join JD Sutter of the Audio Theatre Central podcast to review Adventures in Odyssey Album 76! I grew up listening to Adventures in Odyssey, produced by Focus on the Family, and the writers of these stories played an enormous role in shaping my ideas about what good storytelling is. In this review, we delve into some deeper ethical topics prompted by the episodes in this album, and talk some about character arcs, particularly from the perspective of a Christian audio drama.  Story has a way of teaching lessons and creating role models, regardless of initial intention, and I felt some tension in a few of the characters, which I feel the writers are working towards resolving, that I talked with JD about in this episode.  Hope you enjoy the review!  Click the link below to listen!
